PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Made for permitted teens who want near-complete professional coaching, this five-hour package covers the majority of the seven in-car hours required on the path to licensing — with time to spare for the skills that need it. It's the choice for families who want a teen to experience a full, end-to-end driving curriculum under an instructor's guidance, rather than assembling shorter lessons piece by piece. By this level, there's enough time to teach every core competency and revisit the difficult ones until they're solid.
5 Hours of Behind-the-Wheel Driving Lessons
Each package delivers five full hours of in-car training with a TDLR-certified instructor. The hours are enough to run through the complete range of driving fundamentals from start to finish — vehicle control, observation and scanning, city and residential driving, highway merging and speed management, and the full set of parking and turning maneuvers — while still leaving a built-in cushion to double back on whatever a teen finds hardest.
Instructors typically use the early hours to establish a complete foundation, the middle hours to layer in complexity and real-world traffic, and the final hours to refine and road-test-proof the whole skill set. Sessions can be spread across several weeks for steady growth or scheduled tightly for a comprehensive run-up to the DPS road test.
Students book through our online calendar and choose the days and times that work best, with lessons available seven days a week at both our Richmond and Sugar Land locations. Additional hours can be added anytime for teens who want to close the gap to the full requirement.
Important: Students may begin behind-the-wheel lessons only after they have obtained their learner's permit. Every hour completed with our certified instructors counts toward the in-car instruction hours required on the road to licensing.
