How long must a teen hold a learners permit before applying for a provisional license?

A teen must hold a learners permit for at least six months and be at least 16 years old before taking the driving test for a provisional license.

How can an adult apply for a learners permit in Texas?

Adults aged 18-24 must complete a 6-hour online drivers education course with a driving school and pass the written test. Once the course is completed, they must bring their certificate to the DPS to apply for a learners permit.

What are the requirements for an adult to obtain a Texas drivers license?
