PROGRAM OVERVIEW
ADULT DPS ROAD TEST
My First Drive Driving School offers onsite Adult DPS Road Test designed to help adults complete their Texas driver licensing process with convenience and confidence. This service allows eligible adult students to complete their required driving skills test at one of our driving schools while receiving clear guidance on the documentation and requirements needed before the road test.
ADULT DPS ROAD TEST REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible for the Adult DPS Road Test, participants must meet the applicable Texas Department of Public Safety requirements. Students must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid Texas learner’s permit. Students must also have completed the required 6-hour adult driver education course and the IMPACT Texas Adult Driver (ITAD) course before taking the road test.
Documents Required for Adult Road Test
Students must provide the required documentation before their scheduled road test. Required documents include:
● Valid Texas Learner’s Permit
● 6-Hour Driver Education Course Certificate (ADE-1317 Driver’s License Certificate)
● IMPACT Texas Adult Driver (ITAD) Certificate
● Texas Driver License Application
Students are responsible for ensuring that all required documents are complete, accurate, and submitted before their scheduled appointment.
DOCUMENT SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Additional information regarding the adult road test process, including blank forms and examples of completed forms, can be found on our website at: https://myfirstdrive.net/dps-road-test
All required documents must be submitted online at least 48 hours before the scheduled road test appointment using our document submission portal: https://myfirstdrive.net/documents-submission
IMPORTANT: Per State of Texas requirements, all applicable documents must be hand signed. Students should carefully review their documents before submission to ensure that all required information has been completed correctly and that signatures are provided where required.
AFTER PASSING THE ROAD TEST
Once the student successfully passes the road test, My First Drive Driving School will provide the student with a sealed envelope containing the road test results. The student is responsible for making an appointment with the Texas Department of Public Safety and bringing the sealed envelope to DPS.
The student must submit the sealed road test results to DPS in order to complete the remaining steps of the Texas driver licensing process. Passing the road test does not by itself complete the entire driver licensing process, and students must follow all additional instructions provided by DPS.
