Adult DPS Road Test
My First Drive Driving School provides an on-site Adult DPS Road Test service, giving eligible adults a straightforward and stress-free way to complete their Texas driver licensing process. Rather than scheduling the road test at DPS, this service allows you to take the road test at one of our driving schools.
Electronic Document Submission to DPS
This package also includes Electronic Document Submission to DPS, a service where My First Drive handles the organization and electronic submission of your required documents directly to DPS — eliminating the need for an in-person DPS visit entirely.
Once submitted, DPS typically takes approximately 3-4 business days to review your application and issue an approval or request any corrections. You can monitor the status of your application at any time by visiting https://txt.texas.gov.
Upon approval, the final step is upgrading your permit to a full driver's license, which requires a one-time fee of approximately $11 paid directly to DPS.
ADULT DPS ROAD TEST ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
To qualify for the Adult DPS Road Test, applicants must meet the applicable Texas Department of Public Safety requirements. Students must be 18 years of age or older and possess a current and valid Texas learner’s permit.
Applicants must also have completed the required 6-hour adult driver education course and the Impact Texas Adult Driver (ITAD) course before taking the road test.
Documents Needed for the Adult Road Test
Students must provide all required documentation before their scheduled road test appointment. Required documents include:
● Valid Texas Learner’s Permit
● Certificate of Completion for the 6-Hour Adult Driver Education Course (DE-964)
● Impact Texas Adult Driver (ITAD) Completion Certificate
● Texas Driver License Application
Students are responsible for ensuring that all required documents are complete and accurate before submitting them for review.
