PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This complete Texas adult driver’s ed package is intended for first-time drivers 18 years and older. The program is fully approved by TDLR and covers every step required to secure a driver’s license in Texas, from the mandatory online course to in-car practice and the DPS road exam.
6-HOUR ONLINE ADULT DRIVER EDUCATION
Adults between 18 and 24 applying for a driver’s license in Texas must complete a 6-hour state-approved online driver education course. Our program is available 100% online, allowing you to learn at your own pace, on your own schedule, and from any device.
When the course is completed, students will take the final exam online. Passing the test generates a certificate of completion, which is required by the DPS to apply for a learner’s permit. Students may retake the exam until they pass.
Required Documents for a Texas Learner’s Permit:
- Proof of legal identity (such as birth certificate, U.S. passport, or permanent resident card)
- Social Security card
- Two separate proofs of Texas residency
8 HOURS OF IN-CAR DRIVER TRAINING
Students will receive eight hours of hands-on behind-the-wheel instruction with a certified TDLR driving instructor. Lessons are private, tailored to each student’s skill level, and focus on building safe driving habits while preparing for the Texas DPS road test. Scheduling is flexible, with lessons available seven days a week and easy online booking.
Important: Students must have a valid learner’s permit before starting in-car driving lessons.
TEXAS DPS ROAD TEST
The package concludes with the DPS-authorized road test, which can be completed directly at our licensed driving school. This allows students to complete all required steps for a driver’s license in one convenient location.
Eligibility for the Road Test:
- Successful completion of the 6-Hour Adult Driver Ed Course (required for ages 18–24)
- Completion of the IMPACT Texas Young Drivers online program
