How the Process Works:
- Take and pass your road test at My First Drive.
- We review and securely submits your documents electronically to DPS on your behalf.
- DPS takes 3-4 business days to review your documents and approve your license.
- Once approved, you upgrade the permit to a license on TxT portal here: https://txt.texas.gov/
- Immediately upon upgrade, you receive a pdf in email, followed by the hard-copy in 2-3 weeks.
Note:

- An $11 fee is required to upgrade the permit to a license regardless of whether you do it online or in person.
