PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This program is designed for adults 18 and older who have not yet begun the process of obtaining a driver’s license. Fully TDLR-certified, it provides all the essential components needed to start driving legally in Texas.
6-Hour Online Adult Driver Education
This state-approved online course is required for adults aged 18–24 who are applying for a learner’s permit. The course can be completed entirely online, allowing students to study at their own pace from home.
Upon finishing the course, students take a built-in exam. Once passed, a completion certificate is issued, which can be presented at the DPS office to obtain a learner’s permit. Students are allowed multiple attempts at taking the test.
Documents required at DPS for the learner’s permit:
· Birth certificate, passport, or green card
· Social Security card
· Two proofs of Texas residency
6 Hours of Behind-the-Wheel driving lessons
Students receive six hours of one-on-one driving practice with a TDLR-certified instructor. Lessons are available seven days a week, and students can schedule sessions online according to their convenience.
Important: Driving instruction can only begin after the student has received a learner’s permit.
Texas Authorized DPS Road Test
Included in this package is the DPS-authorized road test, conducted directly at the driving school.
Requirements to take the road test:
· Completion of the 6-hour Online Adult Driver Education Course (required for ages 18–24)
· Completion of the IMPACT course
