PROGRAM OVERVIEW
My First Drive Driving School offers a streamlined Teen DPS Road Test experience designed to help 16- and 17-year-olds complete their driver’s licensing journey with convenience and confidence.
TEEN DPS ROAD TEST REQUIREMENTS:
Participants must be 16 or 17 years old and possess a valid Texas learner’s permit. They must also have completed the required 32-hour classroom driver education course, IMPACT Texas Teen Driver (ITTD) course, thirty seven (37) hours of mandated behind-the-wheel training, as well as seven (7) observation hours .
Documents Required for Teen Road Test:
- Valid Texas Learner's Permit
- 32-Hour Driver Education Course Certificate (DE-964 Driver's License Certificate)
- IMPACT Texas Teen Driver (ITTD) Certificate
- 30-hour BTW Driving Log
- Texas Driver License Application for Minor
- 14-hour In-Car Observation and BTW Driving Log
- Classroom Instruction Log

IMPORTANT: Per State of Texas requirement, all documents must be hand signed.
Once student passes the road test, the student will be provided a sealed enveloped with road test results. The student then must make a DPS appointment to submit the sealed envelope to DPS in order to upgrade permit to a provisional license.
