Adult DPS Road Test

In order to be eligible for a Adult Road Test:

• You must be be 18 or older to take the adult road test.

• If under age of 25, you must have finished the 6-hour course.

• All documents must be provided to the school on the day of the road test. 

• The road test fee is non-refundable. 

• Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled road test time.

What to bring to the Road Test:

Adults between ages 18-24 must bring the following documentation with them for the road  test:

• Learner's Permit

• Driver Ed Certificate (ADE-1317) showing completion of 6-hour course.

• Impact Texas Adult Driver (ITAD) Certificate 

Adults ages 25 or older are not required to bring Driver Ed Certificate (ADE-1317)?

After passing the road test, you will be given a sealed envelope to take to Texas Department of Safety (DPS) to obtain your driver's license.  DO NOT open the envelope as DPS will not accept an open envelop.
